Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is set to star in the upcoming horror-comedy film, ‘The Bhootnii’, where he plays a ghostbuster named Baba. This marks his first portrayal of such a character, blending elements of horror and comedy.
Dutt expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I love comedies. The Bhootnii is a film which is a good mix of horror and comedy. In fact, horror comedy is one of the toughest genres to crack. But, when I heard the script, I felt that it had the potential to entertain the audience. I was attracted to my role. I am playing a ghostbuster baba for the first time. I had a lot of fun while playing this character which has mass appeal.” He acknowledged that horror-comedy is a challenging genre but felt the script had strong potential to entertain audiences.
Director Sidhaant Sachdev praised Dutt’s dedication, revealing that at age 65, the actor performed all his stunts without a body double, including jumping from a 40-foot wall.
The film also features Mouni Roy as an evil spirit, along with Sunny Singh, Palak Tiwari, Aasif Khan, and YouTuber Beyounick. The trailer showcases a mix of supernatural thrills and comedic moments.
‘The Bhootnii’ is scheduled to release in theaters on April 18, 2025, offering audiences a unique blend of horror and humor.
